Your Child Will Learn

Creative stimulation for touch and sight sensory experience

Here’s What to Do

  1. Gather some colorful ribbons that are 5-7 inches in length
  2. Loosely tie 2-3 ribbons to the tips of your fingers
  3. Sit your baby in your lap or lay them on their back
  4. Dangle the ribbons in front of your baby to see, grasp, and pull

Put PEER Into Action

PAUSE

  • Smile and hug your baby before you begin this activity

ENGAGE

  • Say the colors of the ribbons
  • Move your hands up and down, side to side

ENCOURAGE

  • When your baby grasps a ribbon, stop moving your hands so they can pull the ribbon off
  • Monitor your baby closely and if they put the ribbon in their mouth, gently pull it out

REFLECT

  • Was your baby able to interact and respond during this activity?
