Your Child Will Learn

Create an animal figure with a paper roll

Here’s What to Do

  1. Use the inner roll from from a roll of paper towels or toilet paper
  2. Have your child paint their favorite animal on the paper roll
  3. Use color paper to cut out other parts for the animal
  4. Help your child glue the paper parts on the paper roll after the paint dries

  • Work on a flat surface, free from distractions

ENGAGE

  • Ask your child to describe the body of their animal
  • Ask your child to describe the colors, shapes, and forms they will paint on the paper roll

ENCOURAGE

  • Hold the paper parts in place as your child glues them to the paper roll 
  • Compliment and praise your child’s artistic choices 

REFLECT

  • Ask your child to explain the colors, shapes, and forms they choose to represent their animal
