Public transportation moves people from one place to another
Here’s What to Do
- Plan a trip for your child to experience riding public transportation, like a bus, train, tram, light rail, or ferry
- Show your child a route map and point to your starting location and final destination; then use your finger to trace the route between these two places
- Let your child assist with you purchasing entry tickets
- Sit in a seat near a window or with a clear view so your child can see things while they ride
Put PEER Into Action
PAUSE
- Plan this trip when you’re not in a hurry and during non-peak hours
ENGAGE

- Ask your child to describe what they see during the ride

- Ask your child to keep track of the stops along the route so they know when to get off
REFLECT
